Lobo was originally only going to be a robotic pirate, but by the
time I had finished this picture, I had come up with his past. The idea became that
these robot bodies were used by his government as warriors, with reprogrammed criminal
brains inside, conditioned to fight any war. Lobo's consciousness reawakened after
being shot down and he spends his life fighting against his creators. I tried to pay
extra special attention to the moving parts on this design, making sure that he would
actually work. |
